Last Of The Summer Dress

Espadrilles bought in Spain complement a lovely white dress and an evening of inspired Indonesian cuisine.

A white dress is summer’s equivalent to the little black dress in the winter. It’s a timeless staple. I left it quite late in the year to bag my white summer dress but couldn’t resist this little number from Miss De-Vyliers, Pontyclun.

What do I love about it? It’s a maxi for a start so I don’t have to worry about showing my knees, it nips in at the waist with lovely lacy bits which show a bit of skin and it’s got a low v at the back. It ticks all my boxes. I wore it with espadrilles which I bought in Spain many years ago and a cross the shoulder bag from Russell and Bromley. It could easily be dressed down with a straw bag and white trainers for something more casual. Either way, it’s a winner.

I gave it it’s first airing on date night. Thanks to Covid, we haven’t had one of those in a while.

We spent a lovely evening at The Corner by Siti in Llantwit Major and enjoyed Siti’s fabulously tasty Indonesian cuisine. We featured this fabulous eatery in our autumn issue of Vale Life, our premier lifestyle magazine for the Vale of Glamorgan. But it’s a must visit if you like authentic cooking at its best.
