As I work from home, my computer desk and equipment has taken over the corner space in my lounge. It’s not ideal as I can’t seem to relax whilst watching the TV as my eyes are constantly drawn to the screen. A decision had to be made. So, we turned the under stairs space into my office (more on that in another blog post) and my desk was moved to my son’s room, which he now loves!
I’m lucky enough that my room is quite spacious and could take a big sofa, so I worked with an amazing local company Jack & Rose who made my huge comfy sofa but it was crying out for a throw. Not any old throw. Oh no, I wanted a luxurious faux fur throw. I’ve looked in a few stores for one I liked but never saw one that I felt was of good enough quality.
I trawled the internet and, given that I would prefer to use an independent company, came across www.fauxthrow.com. I was instantly impressed with the site. Not only does the company produce gorgeous faux fur throws in a choice of sizes, cushions in three sizes to match or contracts, accessories, rugs, and curtains, it also offers faux fur items for men, women and children.
Their products are a big hit with a smattering of TV celebs and have also appeared on programmes such as Celebrity Big Brother, Fortitude, Cowboy Builders and The Jump and their faux fur stoles have been featured in Vogue.
Now for the colour. I could have gone for my usual go-to animal print but decided to go super glam and go white. I know, white I hear you gasp! How on earth will that stay clean? Not an issue for me as I don’t plan on eating on it or allowing anyone else in my family to come near it with food! And now that the dog is too old to jump up on the sofa, she won’t be soiling it with her muddy paws any time soon!
The buying process
Using the site was easy peasy. You just choose the product, the colour, and the size. The product arrived within days, beautifully packed in festive wrapping with bows with a lovely note which said “Packed with loving care by … and then signed personally by members of the company.
What I Ordered
I can personally vouch for the Snow-White Faux Fur Throw and Mongolian Silver Cushion. The throw is perfect for either a cosy evening on my sofa or as a stylish throw for my bed – whichever takes my fancy. It’s very weighty which makes it feel really expensive. It’s a fantastic alternative to real fur which makes it a guilt free shopping experience from a company with great moral standing. It was backed in a faux suede material., which was amazingly soft, and which made the throw look more expensive. The cushion was the perfect glamorous accessory.
What I loved
The quality of the fur is simply sublime. It’s so gorgeously soft to the touch. It truly is a fantastic high- quality alternative to real fur. Both the fur throw and the pouffes are backed with faux suede, which is also amazingly soft, and takes the quality of the product to the next level.
From the buying process, the care the company took in the packaging, the superb customer care (I asked a few questions beforehand), the gorgeous and the amazing quality of the throw and cushion. The fact that this was an independent, family run, British business was important to me as is the fact that the products are made in the UK.
Now that I’ve experienced this company and a couple of its products, I’m going to find it difficult not to wander back to the website and treat myself to other products to add to my home or buy gifts for friends and family.
