Jo Loves Perfume, And So Do I!

If like me you’ve spent all of lockdown in the same t-shirt and jogger’s combo, no make-up and hair that’s got you looking like a wild banshee, then the thought of the promised lockdown freedom can’t come too soon.

I’m so ready to get back in a dress and heels or even a dress and trainers. I’ve even been mistaken not once but twice for a boy. I know I have short, cropped hair but jeez! If you don’t believe me, this is how the comments went.

Comment 1
Standing outside my mum’s house in my dog walking kit, another dog walker walked by and his dog started sniffing my legs (obviously could smell my dog). The dog owner then said, “Stop it now, he’s got nothing for you”.

Comment 2
Hubby and I were in a café, the order was placed, and the owner asked which table we were sitting at. My husband pointed at me and the owner said, “oh the one with the lad in the check shirt.”

Enough is enough already…
I’ve always loved wearing perfume and often get asked what I’m wearing. It always makes me feel pretty and feminine. I’ve got a cupboard full of lovely bottles. I’ve always been a big fan of Jo Malone and now Jo Loves.

Jo Malone CBE Background

For those of you who don’t know the story. Jo Malone CBE has been described as an ‘English scent maverick’ and the woman responsible for creating some of the world’s most loved fragrances. Jo gained global cult status with the launch of her eponymous brand, Jo Malone London. In 1999, Jo sold the business to Estée Lauder Companies and remained Creative Director until she left in 2006. Jo’s passion for fragrance never subsided and in 2011 she was ready to once again take the world by storm with her new brand, Jo Loves, an innovative scent, bath, body, and candle collection inspired by the memories and moments in life that she loves.

Jo’s undeniable desire to create beautiful and unexpected fragrances, pioneering new products and entertaining experiences. Jo’s creative seal of integrity, symbolised by the red dot, is stamped across everything that bears the Jo Loves name.

Jo Loves New Perfume – Cobalt Patchouli & Cedar

I couldn’t wait to give this scent a try. First of all, the bottle, which was designed by artist Natasha Murray has got spring/summer written all over it. Not literally. I mean the colour blue just reminds you of those deep Mediterranean seas. Remember those?

The blurb says, “The scent radiates a powerful sense of calm, representing freedom, intuition, imagination and inspiration” and “It’s fresh, truly uplifting cologne scent has a clean, crisp air. Its powerful base notes give this fragrance a unique intensity, while the classic notes of vetiver, patchouli and cedarwood take on an eclectic twist to create a captivating new scent.”

All I can say is that I love it. The big problem I have with it though is that hubby loves it too. So much so that I’ve had to find a new hiding place for this one just in case it goes walkies.

All I need now is to be able to pop on a ditsy, boho maxi, a bit of lippie and go somewhere – even if it is to the local garden centre!
